What Can I Design for You?

Life by Design . . .Wool Cat

Before I was 5, I took a nice wool baby blanket, cut out shapes, found buttons for eyes and sewed together the likeness of a cat. That was my first notable piece of mixed media art. Mom wasn't too keen that I had ruined a perfectly good blanket, but her praise for my creativity set the wheels in motion.

I’ve always been involved with art, design and creating in one way or another. Through drawing, ceramics, sculpture, sewing, garden design, jewelry design, industrial design, graphic design and website design, I've always found a way to incorporate creativity into my life.

Art classes in school were always my favorite. It was no wonder that I decided to study art in college. So, I settled into the University of Illinois Fine Arts curriculum. (Go Illini!) With a good mix of right and left brain capabilities, I decided to major in industrial design. (That's art with a practical side.) Four years later I had a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and was ready to wow the world with the my latest designs.

While looking for an industrial design job, I found an interesting design position at a small graphic design studio. I liked it and the rest is history. Over a few years, I progressed from Jr. Designer to Sr. Designer and eventually Director of Design and Production.

Now, I specialize in creating business identities including logos, print graphics and websites. I like helping make a business look professional. What can I design for you?
